Puligny Montrachet : Where to Buy


Puligny Montrachet, located in the Côtes de Beaune, Burgundy wines produced red and white. Approximately 250 hectares are cultivated, producing 7000 hectoliters of wine per year.

Puligny is located near the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, in the sub-sector which is designated as the Coast “Meursault”, which prides itself on producing the best white wines in the world. This claim is not unjustified. Wines provided by vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet certainly count among the greatest dry white wines of France, and their fabulous Montrachet is considered by many experts as arguably the most prestigious world.

A Great Burgundy

Montrachet is so exceptional that it must be regarded as an entirely separate case among the wines of Burgundy. Furthermore Montrachet, Puligny sharing with another Grand Cru Chassagne-Montrachet. To these two giants of the wine are added some other vineyards only in this city. Chevalier and Bienvenue-Bâtard are even recognized as Grand Cru.

Pucelles, Cailleret,  Combettes, Chalumeaux share the same characteristics as the preceding eminently dry, less oily and less lush as Meursault, but may have a meaty bouquet, rich, floral and fruity sometimes. Their golden color is green shades and various luminosities. They vigor and virility unusual for whites. They leave the mouth feeling fresh and full. And, the wine is good, the more persistent aftertaste.
